Doctor's Appointment

We went to the doctor today and the baby is still in there! :) I am now 3cm dilated and waiting. We have to wait for Baby Payton to kick us into labor before they will admit us! He is doing great, has a very healthy heart beat and is around 7 lbs. The doctor doesn't think he will be more than 8 lbs when he is born, but you never know!

Our next appointment is Wednesday, October 1st and our due date is Friday, October 3rd. The doctor says that she won't let us go past October 10th. So our countdown continues and we will keep you posted. Travis has a text and email message ready to go, so we will keep you all in the loop!

More to come!!

Baby Shower Finale!!

Last Saturday, Travis' Aunt Monica and cousins Maleah, Rachel & Lisa threw us a baby couples shower on Fox Island. Trav's family from Moses Lake came over which was such a nice surprise and all of his family from the Tacoma area attended the shower as well! Some of Jeanie and Kal's friends were also in attendance which added to the wonderful mix of company!

That morning, Travis and I headed down to Gig Harbor to Jeanie and Kal's for breakfast with the family, then went over to Aunt Monica and Uncle John's house on Fox Island around 3PM for the shower. The house was decorated with a nautical theme, which was very fitting for baby Payton!! The food was delicious and we had so much fun catching up with family and friends that we haven't seen in a while.

We were so spoiled by everyone that day! Payton received some of the cutest stuffed animals and outfits. We also received necessities including bottles, sterilizers, a pack and play, and so many other wonderful gifts! I wish I had some pictures to share, but unfortuenatley I was too busy chatting with everyone to take any. I think Trav's Uncle Steve took some, so I will have to track him down and get some to put up!

We are so grateful to all of our family and friends! We have recieved so many generous gifts and so much love and support from everyone that we can't thank you all enough!! Thanks to the Potucek family for opening your home to us and everyone for the shower! It was beautiful and we enjoyed every minute of it. Thank you to everyone that traveled from Moses Lake, up North and down South! It means so much to Travis and me!

Payton is so lucky to be born into such a wonderful, loving family! I can't wait for everyone to meet him and for him to meet all of you! We love you!! :)

Family Shower

On Sunday, my Mom, Hillary, Angie, and Carlie threw me such a fun baby shower with my family! They decorated my parents house with everything BLUE! They had a delicious spread of food and goodies and of course the company was wonderful! Payton is such a lucky little boy; he already has so many people that love him and can't wait to meet him. And of course they spoiled him with lots of presents! We got so many adorable clothes, blankets, rattles, bottles, stuffed animals, a pack and play, a baby carrier, a toy box (hand made by Brad), and SO much more!! I have lots of thank yous to write b/c I am so grateful everyone was able to come and spend time with us before Payton's arrival.

Thank you to Mom, Ang, Hil, and Carlie, you all made the shower such a special day! And thank you to everyone for driving from
North and South to partake in the festivities! We love you all and appreciate all of your support! The phone tree is ready to go and we will let you all know once baby Payton is ready to make his entrance into the family! :) Aunt Angie & Carlie prepping the fondue pot! So much good food!Grandma Sue and two of my mom's sisters, the Great Aunts (they hate that), Sheila & Sally. Grandma Sue made the cutest cookies! So cute! :) Lots of presents!!!Aunt Tia found the cutest nautical decorations for the nursery! I love them and they are going to go so well in the room! My cousin Shaunna lives down in LA and couldn't make it to the shower but she had her two little girls make the sailor Monkey "Walter" at build-a-bear for Payton. She sent the monkey and pictures that documented the girls putting him together. They are so great!! Shaunna is the best Mom, I hope I can be just as great of a mom as she is to Lily and Mia! So thoughtful! I loved it!

Hillary has more pictures so once I see them I will try to post more!

37 weeks

So I haven't put any belly shots up, but I figured I will give you a few to look at since I am 37 weeks now. I am getting so big, which is making it more difficult to sleep and move. I will put up more as the days and weeks go on and my belly keeps growing! Don't get scared now...

Hurry up and wait...

is what the doctor told us today. Looks like we had a little bit of "false labor" going on two weeks ago and now nothing new is really happening. I am about 60% effaced and still only 1 cm dilated. The baby is getting bigger and measuring right on schedule, but as far as an early delivery goes, it does not appear to be a threat any longer. The doctor took me off the medication last week and ever since then there has not been much activity or progression, besides the baby getting bigger which is a good thing! The doctor said that we can welcome the baby whenever he is ready and he could come any day, but there is no way to tell when he will arrive. Payton will be the one that decides when he is ready to come! So we will be here until he is ready just hurrying up preparations to wait!

My mom said she had all her kids on a full moon and next Monday the 15th is a full moon, so we'll see what happens! :) Any takers on a due date other than October 3rd???

Our next appointment is on on Monday the 15th, so I will let you know once we know more!

Another Doctor's Appointment...

So the medication has been working so far. I am still 1 cm dilated but we have progressed a little more since last week. The baby is in position and the doctor told me that I could stop taking the medication she put me on last week to stop contractions. After next week she said that we can go ahead and have the baby. This doesn't mean that the baby is coming because we could still very well go to our October 3rd due date. This just means that the baby will be considered full term after 37 weeks and would be at less of a risk than he was at 35 weeks. The doctor gave me a bunch of signs to look for and if we have any of them then we should call or come and see her right away.

So here we are, the wait continues. We are getting so anxious that another four weeks seems like an eternity, but I guess when Payton is ready he will let us know! Until then, we wait! Next appointment is on Monday so more to come then. Hope all is well! :)
