Hawaii 2009

We just got back last weekend from 10 days in Maui! It was wonderful, relaxing and such a beautiful Island. We took Payton on a plane for the first time and he did great. Luckily we were on the flight to Maui with Trav's parents Jeanie & Kal, his sister Leah, his two cousins Rachel and Lisa and bf Chad, as well as his Aunt Monica, Uncle John and his Grandpa Tom. Payton had lots of distraction on our 5.5 hour flight thanks to all the family on board! We stayed at the Hololani up by Kahana, just north of Kaanapali. Trav's Grandpa Tom graciously provided two condos for all 12 of us to share. The condos were right on the beach with a great pool and beautiful scenery. The first couple of days was hard to adjust with the time difference and Payton's schedule. We finally got it down after the third day and were finally ready to get out an move around, since we had been trying to unwind and laying around the pool for the first few days. We went out to lunch a few days and dinner a couple of nights to the great restaurants in Lahina and Kaanapali; Kimos, Cheeseburger in Paradise, Hula Grill, and a few others. We shopped around Lahina and traveled down to the south end of the Island to Wahilea and Keihi. Trav, Payton and I on ly made it out to one other beach down in Wahilea called Polo Beach, which had great waves, beautiful sand and awesome weather! For the most part the three of us stayed close to the condo by the Pool and our Beach front, which was just perfect for us. We had such a great time with Trav's family playing games, eating, drinking, laughing, and reiminsing. The group was so laid back which was a nice change from the every day running around back at home. Thanks for Trav's family for helping with Payton and allowing us to be apart of a memoriable trip. We love you! :)
