Today (October 2nd) is your first birthday. It is hard to believe that one year ago we welcomed you into our lives and brought you home from the hospital not knowing what to do next. Over this past year we have helped each other learn and grow together. Within the first few days, you let us know what you needed with each cry, yawn, poop, or smile. We worked together to learn just what you needed to keep you smiling because your smile is the best part of my day. We watched as you began exploring the world around you, by rolling from your back to your tummy and then your tummy to your knees; you were determined to move. We encouraged you as you began to crawl and then pulled yourself up on to anything you could reach. Now you are chasing us around the house, step-by-step, with the biggest, proudest smile on your face. You are getting stronger and smarter each day and you are growing into such a brave, confident young boy. This first year, we have taught each other so many valuable pointers and lessons on how to keep each other smiling. I am looking forward to all that you can teach us over the next several years and all that we can teach you. You have filled our lives with so much laughter, love and enjoyment. I could not imagine our lives without you and I thank God everyday for bringing you to us. We are so lucky to have such a happy, healthy little Payton boy.
Happy 1st Birthday Mr. P! We love you!
