Remembering...

This past year has been a tough one with losing two close family members within a few months apart.

In February, my uncle Len passed away after his year-long battle of cancer. He was such an amazing Man, Uncle, father of four, and husband to my Aunt Mina. He was so active, had the most infectious laugh and strong presence in any room he was in. When I was younger I would go down to Uncle Len & Aunt Mina's house to spend time with my cousin Shaunna during holiday or summer breaks. In the mornings Uncle Len would have some mean pancakes waiting for us, he would take us out on bike rides, and always had a smile on his face. We would go camping with Uncle Len and he always found the best spots on the river or way out in the boonies. Uncle Len always knew how to have a good time. I didn't get to spend a lot of time with him in the last ten years but he and my Aunt Mina came to live with my parents for the last year and a half of his life. It was amazing to watch his courageous fight. Every time I would go over to visit he always had that huge Uncle Len smile, such an amazing Man! He will always be missed.

In May, my Aunt Stacey passed away, ironically enough on her birthday, from her year & a half long battle of brain cancer. She was such a beautiful woman and a mother of five. Stacey was an amazing chef, making the most incredible spreads for family gatherings or just a simple evening at her home for dinner. She was always moving, either exercising, running after kids, or doing whatever she could to make you feel welcome and comfortable. Stacey lit up the room with her warm smile and welcoming embrace. She was an inspiring mother and wonderful Aunt who will be always be in our thoughts and prayers.

We love you both and will continue to remember and carry out the wonderful things you have taught us all.
