I ran out of diapers...

So the other day, after Payton woke up with a nasty diaper, I realized we were out of diapers! It was too early to send Trav to the store but my Mom had given me some cloth diapers and plastic pants at one of my showers and she told me, "You are going to appreciate these when you run out of diapers one day." Mom, you were right, I did appreciate them, but only for about an hour! BTW, I totally respect the Moms and Dads that are "green" and use cloth/reusable diapers, but I use disposable ones. Plus, I don't think I have used a cloth diaper with the safety pins since I changed my little brothers diaper which was about 20 years ago!

I carefully pinned Payton in with the three-inch safety pin needles and secured the plastic pants over the cloth diaper, which were previously being used as burp rags. Once I put him down he started making swooshing noises as if he was wearing a garbage sack around his waste. We began our normal morning routine. Payton had a little breakfast and played for a few, then was put down for a nap in his cloth diaper and plastic pants. When he woke up his entire outfit and mattress were soaked!! Now maybe I put the diaper on wrong or maybe he just peed a lot, but the disposable ones work way better than that! That is a lot of mess to clean up from one small baby! Thanks to the Dad for cleaning up baby and the bed! I will for now on be more prepared because I honestly don't want to use cloth diapers any more, plus what are you supposed to do with it when its all wet or worse poopy?!!!

Thanks Mom for the backup cloth diapers, you were right, they did come in handy!

Happy Anniversary to Us!

MARCH 24th is our Wedding Anniversary!! We have been married three (3) wonderful years! A lot has happened in three years and so far it has been such a great ride! I am so thankful to have found such an amazing, loving husband! Travis makes me laugh and keeps me on my toes! I am excited for what the future holds for the two of us and now Payton! Happy Anniversary Trav - Love you!!

He went to Dallas last weekend for a conference and brought Payton back a little gift! We are so excited for Travis’ new venture!

Payton's new toy!

We got Payton the Baby Einstein saucer toy thing! It is the greatest toy in the world and he LOVES IT! He sits and plays and screams in this thing for as long as we will let him. Below is a video of him enjoying his new toy! He is growing so fast!

Update…

It has been over a month since my last blog so I will do my best catching up! We have been so busy lately with work, family, friends, and most importantly with PAYTON! Payton is growing like a weed! He is about 20 lbs now and as cute as can be. He has two little teeth coming in, so he is extra fussy at night, but we still think he is the greatest baby ever! We are slowly introducing solid foods to him at night time and he loves it. His hair is growing in but it is growing straight up like a little Mohawk but at least he doesn’t have a mullet anymore! Payton loves Bodi (our boxer) and wants his attention any time he is in the room; they are going to be best buds one day.
The past few weeks, the three of us headed over to Vashon Island for a few days, Payton had his first (and second) sleep over with Grandma Jeanie & Grandpa Kal, we got a quick visit from Stacie & Kevin, we celebrated my Dad’s b-day with the family (March 8th – HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO LILY too, sorry we missed her b-day) and Trav and I got to get out of the house a couple of nights to hang out with some friends for Jeff’s 30th birthday in Feb. and Marge Madness this past weekend (Lisa (Marge’s) b-day). We also found out that our friends Lisa & Troy are expecting their second baby this fall; so excited for them!
We have been go-go-go but we should be slowing down the next month or so. I know I missed a lot of other things, so I will be better this coming month. Hope all is well!

More baby news...

My sister Angie is pregnant and she's having a GIRL!!!! Angie and Ben are expecting their little baby girl on June 17th and we are so excited for them. Payton is totally going to be out numbered by girls, but it will be lots of fun for him to have cousins the same age! Congrats to Angie and Ben!! We love you guys!
