I ran out of diapers...

So the other day, after Payton woke up with a nasty diaper, I realized we were out of diapers! It was too early to send Trav to the store but my Mom had given me some cloth diapers and plastic pants at one of my showers and she told me, "You are going to appreciate these when you run out of diapers one day." Mom, you were right, I did appreciate them, but only for about an hour! BTW, I totally respect the Moms and Dads that are "green" and use cloth/reusable diapers, but I use disposable ones. Plus, I don't think I have used a cloth diaper with the safety pins since I changed my little brothers diaper which was about 20 years ago!

I carefully pinned Payton in with the three-inch safety pin needles and secured the plastic pants over the cloth diaper, which were previously being used as burp rags. Once I put him down he started making swooshing noises as if he was wearing a garbage sack around his waste. We began our normal morning routine. Payton had a little breakfast and played for a few, then was put down for a nap in his cloth diaper and plastic pants. When he woke up his entire outfit and mattress were soaked!! Now maybe I put the diaper on wrong or maybe he just peed a lot, but the disposable ones work way better than that! That is a lot of mess to clean up from one small baby! Thanks to the Dad for cleaning up baby and the bed! I will for now on be more prepared because I honestly don't want to use cloth diapers any more, plus what are you supposed to do with it when its all wet or worse poopy?!!!
