4th of July Weekend

For the 4th of July weekend we headed over to our family cabin on Vashon Island for the big, family 4th of July party! There were about 80-90 people there, all family, and we had such a great time. We have not had the big 4th of July party at the Vashon Cabin in eight years, but thanks to Grandma Louise this year we were able to bring it back! The famous Grandpa Don's clam chowder was served, horseshoe and badminton tournaments went on throughout the day. To end the evening, we had three fireworks shows to admire; the one in Quartermaster Harbor, the Tacoma show, and our own personal show off the end of our dock! It was such a great day and evening and so wonderful to be back at the beach!

With only one injury and six paramedics called to attendance at the party (my Mom cracked her head open on the badminton court which she came out of with one small cut and several bruises; she is such a competitor), the 4th of July party was a huge success.

We are looking forward for many years to come. I know Payton will have so much fun next year! I can't wait to start up these family traditions that were started years before I was even around. Good work family! Happy 4th to everyone! :)

Looks like a fun weekend. All I think about when I see that pic of trav is the burn he must have had.
