Nursery Pictures!!!

Trav and I started putting the nursery together last month. We decided to go with blue, I know big surprise, and incorporate a nautical theme. So far we have painted, arranged furniture (which is from Leah's old room, so cute), and we just set the crib up last night. My parents, Grandma & Grandpa Fitz, helped us buy the crib for baby Payton and I know he will just love it. We got one of the 4-in-1 convertible cribs, turns into a toddler bed eventually, pretty neat.

Angie bought the cutest little sailboat that will go perfectly in th
e room. We found an Oar coat hanger and a lighthouse that we will have to find a place for. We are still looking for a white life ring that we can hang up, buoys, some kind of thick rope fishing net, and any creative nautical items you can think of. If you locate any of these things for a good price/deal, let us know! Hope you like the room as much as we do!

8 weeks and counting...

The countdown has officially begun (unofficially it began 8 months ago). Only 8 more weeks until baby Payton is here!! Trav and I are getting so excited. I have been super busy with getting things organized with work and around the house, so we are able to enjoy the baby's arrival. This last month we have been working on the nursery and our crib finally arrived yesterday, so the room is coming together!! I have several projects on Trav's-to-do list before the baby arrives and with a busy August and September coming up, we will be working hard to get everything finished in time.

I have my next doctor's appointment on Tuesday and then we start going every two weeks, and then once a week until baby is here. Tomorrow we have our first of two parent/baby classes that we decided to take. Both classes are about five hours long and should be pretty educational. I will fill you in on anything exciting that we learn! ;)

I am truly excited for tomorrow because after our baby class Lynne, Kel and the girls are putting on a baby shower for baby Payton!! It is more of a Baby BBQ than a shower because the boys are invited too. It will be fun to spend some time with friends we haven't seen in a while because we have been hermitting at home for the last 8 months. :) I am so thankful for my amazing girlfriends and love that they are so supported of Trav and me! Wish my out-of-towner friends could be there, but I know they will be there in spirit! I will fill you in on Baby Shower (BBQ) details later!

Hope everyone is doing well! More to come! :)

Third Trimester!!

Last Friday, I entered into my THIRD Trimester!!! Only three more months or 12 more weeks, can’t decide which one sounds shorter, but we have entered the home stretch! Trav and I are so excited to meet Payton and just so anxious for him to be here! We have been trying to stay busy so that we don’t sit and focus on the time we have left.

Payton is moving so much everyday. We joke that he is going to have the spirit and energy that Travis has because he never sits still. It is so crazy to watch my stomach suddenly start moving all around when I am just laying down; it looks a little alien-ish, but it’s the coolest thing ever! Trav will lay there and watch it or put his head on my stomach and wait for Payton to kick him in the head; pretty entertaining. I went in for a monthly appointment today and Payton’s heartbeat is strong and he is growing a little of ahead of schedule. He is getting so big that he is starting to push on my ribs which is not at all comfortable. We were told to start counting his movements, but I honestly don’t think we will have a problem waiting for him to move!

Lynne and Kel are starting to plan a friend’s shower for me in August and my sisters are starting to plan a family shower for me in September. We started putting the nursery together and have it all painted (I will post more on that later). We have so many fun events to look forward to in the next couple of months that I think it will go by faster than we are picturing it!

More updates to come! :)

Day on the Water

Yesterday, Hillary took Angie, Ben, Brian, Casandra, Trav and me out on her boat. It was such a warm day and so nice to be out on Lake Washington for the first time this summer. We lounged on some floaties for a few hours and then Hil pulled the boys on the tube and wake board. Trav was the first to wake board and did such a great job! I got a few pictures of the jumps he was doing.
Brian was next to wake board and then Ben decided that he wanted to try to barefoot ski. Ben was not that successful at barefoot skiing however it was very entertaining. Check out the videos of his attempt. Good times!

4th of July Weekend

For the 4th of July weekend we headed over to our family cabin on Vashon Island for the big, family 4th of July party! There were about 80-90 people there, all family, and we had such a great time. We have not had the big 4th of July party at the Vashon Cabin in eight years, but thanks to Grandma Louise this year we were able to bring it back! The famous Grandpa Don's clam chowder was served, horseshoe and badminton tournaments went on throughout the day. To end the evening, we had three fireworks shows to admire; the one in Quartermaster Harbor, the Tacoma show, and our own personal show off the end of our dock! It was such a great day and evening and so wonderful to be back at the beach!

With only one injury and six paramedics called to attendance at the party (my Mom cracked her head open on the badminton court which she came out of with one small cut and several bruises; she is such a competitor), the 4th of July party was a huge success.

We are looking forward for many years to come. I know Payton will have so much fun next year! I can't wait to start up these family traditions that were started years before I was even around. Good work family! Happy 4th to everyone! :)
