Another Doctor's Appointment...

So the medication has been working so far. I am still 1 cm dilated but we have progressed a little more since last week. The baby is in position and the doctor told me that I could stop taking the medication she put me on last week to stop contractions. After next week she said that we can go ahead and have the baby. This doesn't mean that the baby is coming because we could still very well go to our October 3rd due date. This just means that the baby will be considered full term after 37 weeks and would be at less of a risk than he was at 35 weeks. The doctor gave me a bunch of signs to look for and if we have any of them then we should call or come and see her right away.

So here we are, the wait continues. We are getting so anxious that another four weeks seems like an eternity, but I guess when Payton is ready he will let us know! Until then, we wait! Next appointment is on Monday so more to come then. Hope all is well! :)

Baby Update...

Hi All! I wanted to fill you in on the latest baby update! I had a doctor appointment this morning and things are moving along!! I have been getting a lot of contractions lately and a have had a few other things going on that I told the Doctor about so she checked my cervix this morning. She noticed right away that I have dilated 1 cm already! She said that she wants me to go 37 weeks and since I am only 35 weeks right now, I need to mellow out! :) The doctor said that I need to lay low for the next two weeks, not doing anything physical or stressful. Once I reach 37 weeks then I am allowed to return to normal and gladly welcome little Payton anytime he wants to come after that! I am going to be taking some medication for the next two weeks to stop any contractions. The baby is right around 5lbs and measuring perfectly. His heart beat is healthy and both of us are doing great! Just sounds like baby Payton is ready to come and play, but he needs a little more time with Mom!! :) Trav and I are so excited for Payton to be here, but we are willing to wait a few more weeks or until he is ready to come!

This weekend we were planning on traveling to Brooke & JD's wedding in Idaho but the
doctor says I need to stay close to home just in case. I am bummed about not being able to be there with Brookie, but she is so great and totally understands! This is one of three weddings we will be missing or missed this month. The others being Shelby & Rich's wedding on September 27th in San Diego and Trav's cousin Hanna & Joel's last weekend in Moses Lake. We love you all and wish we could be there for your special days but we have to make sure baby Payton is taken care of!! :)

Our next appointment is next Wednesday, so I will update you with more then.

Doctor's Appointment & Baby Class

Last Tuesday we had another doctor's appointment. The baby is measuring right on schedule and everything looks healthy for the baby and me. We go back to the doctor next Tuesday and then will begin to go once a week until the baby arrives!!! I will give you more of an update as we go along but so far so good.

The heat the past few days was a challenge, but I got through it. I spent lots of time in front of the fan or in AC to keep cool and I drank a ton of water to stay hydrated. I have gotten extremely tired over the past few weeks so that is an additional challenge I am fighting through. I am kind of thankful for the break in the hot weather we are getting this week. I know, I know, we all want nice weather in Seattle and once we get it we complain about it. Typically I wouldn't be complaining but this summer I have an excuse! ;)

On Saturday we attended our first baby class at Evergreen hospital (I wasn't feeling good last week so we ended up not going; this weekend was our first and only class). It was very educational. We learned a lot about different situations and interventions that could take place before and during the baby's arrival. We practiced different breathing techniques, saw a video on a cesarean, and then took a tour of the hospital. I was most excited for the tour and felt a bit of relief after seeing the birthing suite and where they would take you once you get to the hospital. Overall, I am glad we took the class, just makes everything a little more real!

Only 7 weeks left. More updates to come! :)

First Baby Shower!!

On Saturday, Lynne, Kelly and the girls threw us our first Baby Shower/BBQ. We called it a Baby BBQ because the boys were invited too. We had so much fun visiting everyone that was able to make it. The BBQ was up in Mukilteo at Lynne's parents house. The boys played downstairs while the ladies gathered upstairs to catch up and mingle. Once the food came out, the boys came up to eat and then joined in watching Trav and I open the gifts that everyone brought for Payton.

Payton got spoiled with so many wonderful gifts that everyone brought him. He received the cutest outfits, Coug and Seahawk apparel, lots of blankets, a
bath set, and so many useful gifts!!! Aunt Hillary filled a Radio Flyer Wagon with lots of goodies, which was so great of her! I am sure Payton and his dad will get a lot of use out of that wagon.
The girls put on a raffle for anyone that brought diapers and gave away the ultimate beer and wine packages to the big winners - Bryce and Kristi!!! Thanks to the raffle we are stocked for a few months with plenty of diapers! Even Trav got a set of
his own - thanks Bryce, good looking out! On Sunday we started to put all of the goodies away in the nursery and it is starting to look like a little boys room! So exciting!!

We wanted to thank all the girls that helped out! It was such a fun afternoon and we truly appreciate the thought and energy that was put into this fun event! We are so thankful to have such supportive, loving people in our lives!! Thanks to everyone that came, you made our first Baby Shower SO much fun!!!
Trav tried all the clothes on to make sure they looked good! Lauren (Lolo) and Tristan, so cute!! Rauh made a cake! I loved it! Definitely an E for effort! ;)Nursery is starting to fill up!Radio Flyer!!!!! So much fun!

Nursery Pictures!!!

Trav and I started putting the nursery together last month. We decided to go with blue, I know big surprise, and incorporate a nautical theme. So far we have painted, arranged furniture (which is from Leah's old room, so cute), and we just set the crib up last night. My parents, Grandma & Grandpa Fitz, helped us buy the crib for baby Payton and I know he will just love it. We got one of the 4-in-1 convertible cribs, turns into a toddler bed eventually, pretty neat.

Angie bought the cutest little sailboat that will go perfectly in th
e room. We found an Oar coat hanger and a lighthouse that we will have to find a place for. We are still looking for a white life ring that we can hang up, buoys, some kind of thick rope fishing net, and any creative nautical items you can think of. If you locate any of these things for a good price/deal, let us know! Hope you like the room as much as we do!
Trav starting the painting process Me in my safety mask. Bodi Helped too!!Our crib!!Closet now has white organizers in it.Trav and Leah's little rocker!

8 weeks and counting...

The countdown has officially begun (unofficially it began 8 months ago). Only 8 more weeks until baby Payton is here!! Trav and I are getting so excited. I have been super busy with getting things organized with work and around the house, so we are able to enjoy the baby's arrival. This last month we have been working on the nursery and our crib finally arrived yesterday, so the room is coming together!! I have several projects on Trav's-to-do list before the baby arrives and with a busy August and September coming up, we will be working hard to get everything finished in time.

I have my next doctor's appointment on Tuesday and then we start going every two weeks, and then once a week until baby is here. Tomorrow we have our first of two parent/baby classes that we decided to take. Both classes are about five hours long and should be pretty educational. I will fill you in on anything exciting that we learn! ;)

I am truly excited for tomorrow because after our baby class Lynne, Kel and the girls are putting on a baby shower for baby Payton!! It is more of a Baby BBQ than a shower because the boys are invited too. It will be fun to spend some time with friends we haven't seen in a while because we have been hermitting at home for the last 8 months. :) I am so thankful for my amazing girlfriends and love that they are so supported of Trav and me! Wish my out-of-towner friends could be there, but I know they will be there in spirit! I will fill you in on Baby Shower (BBQ) details later!

Hope everyone is doing well! More to come! :)
